National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) – Approved Contractor

The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting is the largest voluntary register of electrical based businesses in the United Kingdom. The NICEIC “assess over 36,000 businesses to ensure that the installation work they undertake meets the standards expected to keep us all safe.” They check compliance and conformity within the electrical sector and also provide training and consultancy services.

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) – Domestic Installer Scheme

The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (Domestic Installer Scheme) sets out to assist installers regarding compliance with Part P. Part P is a section in the Building Regulations that “establishes electrical installation safety standards for domestic properties.”

Gas Safe

The Gas Safe Register is the gas registration body for the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey. Every gas engineer must be on the Gas Safe Register to legally operate. The Gas Safe Register has one main purpose – to ensure all gas work is carried out safely and to protect the public.

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP)

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is a scheme that mostly applies to construction and sets out to ensure the very-highest health and safety standards are abided to. The official mission statement for SSIP states set out “to act as an umbrella organisation to facilitate and maximise mutual or cross-recognition of health and safety assessments between SSIP member schemes, wherever practicable to do so.”
